Music Appreciation Class

In this six-week class we investigate how music works and its role in culture. We trace musical changes from the Renaissance through the 21st century, innovations in instrument making, and new approaches to harmony. We explore Worldviews manifested in music from different historical periods, and learn to distinguish between superficial fashions and epoch-changing approaches in music making.
